Some of the discs have failed

I was really excited about this product after having read all the reviews. Seemed like a real bargain. And everyone loves...I use blu ray discs to archive tv programmes from a panasonic BWT700 blu ray recorder, and as the recorder only allows you to record many HD programmes just once I have to rely on the quality of the discs I buy. I delete the programmes from the player's hard drive after archiving. Ok I do burn the discs at max speed, and some people suggest you should not, just to make sure of a good recording on such a large capacity disc. But I bought 6x speed discs because I want to record them at that speed. I wouldn't buy a 60W light bulb because I wanted it to burn at 40WAll the discs have successfully formatted and recorded the first time I used them, and the discs that have worked, have worked well. However, some of the 25 discs (I have about 5 to 10 left) have failed to play after recording on them only once. Sometimes the discs have worked again after rubbing them clean (although they are new, so I don't really know what I am cleaning), but for at least 2 of the discs, no matter how much I clean the discs or the player's head (the player is only a few months old) they still don't play or let me record more programmes to them. So now I get worried every time I insert a new disc, because it feels like a lottery. Ok, a lottery where I win most of the time. Call me selfish but in this case I want to win all of the time!Maybe it would be different on the version of these discs that have a printable surface. I don't print on the discs but I do write on them with a cd/dvd marker, which I'm pretty sure should be ok.The funny thing is, each disc has the words "Archive for Life" written on the face. They should add "may" at the beginning and "may not" at the end.I previously bought these discs, which cost more but none of them have failed on me :Bluray MediaRange 50GB CAKE TUB 10pcs BD-R 6x Inkjet Printable Double Layer BLU RAY DISC DL RECORDABLEMaybe my blu ray recorder does not like these discs, or maybe its because I burn them at max speed or because I scribble on them, or maybe I have been really unlucky. These BD-R discs do exactly what it says on the label - I bought them along with a Sony BR writer in order to back up video files from 32GB CF cards, and using the supplied Cyberlink software,I can easily do exactly that. I have had no failures thus far, and my precious video footage is now safely backed up on high quality optical media. Recommended.
