Fellows Blu-Ray & DVD cleaner

For cleaning my Panasonic Blu-ray player model DMP-BD85 up until now I have used a pro Blu-ray laser lens made by Maxell which has a voice guide to tell you when the cleaning process begins and ends, this takes about 25 seconds, this disc also tests 5.1 surround sound systems as well as the newer 7.1 surround configuration where as the Fellows disc only tests 5.1 surround sound but does have more language options than the Maxell disc, that has 8 choices where the Fellows has 13, both disc's take about the same length of time to do the job of cleaning which is around about 25 to 30 seconds, the Maxell disc has an animated character on the screen while cleaning is done the Fellows has classical music and close-up film of butterflies collecting nectar and when using it you need to make sure the three brushes on the playing side of the disc are facing forward as you place it in the tray of your player and something to note this cleaner can be used in a DVD player but not in a CD player.I cannot comment on the effectiveness of the surround tests as I don't own a surround sound system and something for the makers using a voice guide for the user would make this a five star product and the packing the disc comes in could be dropped as the same info is on the back of the box, all in all a useful disc for the home cinema owner at this reasonable price...

Good piece of kit - works on both Blu Ray and DVD players, and can also be used in laptops or computers, pretty much anything with a DVD/Blu Ray/CD drive.Upon inserting the DVD, you will be presented with a simple menu that allows you to select which cleaning/checking option you want to do. It only takes around two minutes to finish cleaning the lens, but it also allows you to check your 5.1 surround sound system, which also takes around two minutes. During the cleaning process, you get to watch a little nature-related video to help pass the time, which certainly beats some of the old lens cleaning products I've used!Very simple, easy to use, decent cleaner! Not bad for a basic package.

Does what it says on the tin

As other reviewers have pointed out, this blu ray cleaner is very easy to use. You just put it in your blu ray player press play and let the disk do its work. It removes the dirt from the blu ray and dvd players. The disk is the same size as a normal blu ray or dvd and is nicely packaged in a standard case so it can sit on your shelf with other dvds and blu rays, and therefore won't get lost. The price is quite reasonable (around £8.99 to date). So all in all a pritty good product which "does exactly what it says on the tin".
