After buying a 2.1 Orbitsound T12v3 Spatial Stereo,in JAN 2012 and returning it just one week of use due to a very cheap and poor remote control,i have been looking ever since for a sound bar for my Sony TV,without spending a fortune on a full cinema sound system, i decided to buy this after reading the positive reviews, and im pleased i did, great sound all round,from movies to streaming music from my laptop,yes you still have to fiddle a bit with the settings as each reproduction is recorded differently.I have my TV in one corner of the room and the sub at the opposite corner,sorted the levels out between the speaker bar and sub to get the balance and set the bass and treble to your liking and your rocking !!dont be fooled you never get the spread of sound as good as you would with being surrounded with speakers and wires,but it isnt far off,well done Sony!! oh and the remote .......works at any angle in the room and distance!! very solid bit of kit.BUY IT.

Good system for the money

Good compact system and easy to use, but doesn't have the 'spread' I was expecting. Good sound tho'. I would recommend.

I bought this for my dad as a Christmas present to accompany his Sony 40' tv. The BEST present I have purchased.It was very easy to set up and I'm female. The only minor is the length of the optical cable as stated by other reviewers. Honestly it was not an issue for us as the soundbar is placed directly in front of the tv. The wireless subwoofer is just a gem. We have hidden it in between the sofas and you don't even notice it is there. Past experience with Sony subwoofers were not good as I personally felt it just emitted rumbling which did not add to any viewing enjoyment. This subwoofer is very good on its own but it compliments the soundbar so well in that the stereo and bass blend beautifully.I now have the tinny tv sound on mute and only use the soundbar. The Bluetooth feature is brilliant. Thus far I have connected my Sony MP3 player and ipad with great results.I can see this system struggling in a larger living room but come on it is a 2.1 system after all. Regardless it is magical for us and once again Sony has left me a very happy customer.
