Remote control issues
By chiii3
Pros:+ USB plays many different video formats+ wifi and youtube/iplayer work perfectly+ fairly quietCons:- Remote control is bad both in design and signal quality.- Crashes from time to time when dealing with blu-ray menus.- Picture viewer can't read .png filesI don't regret buying this product but the remote really is awful, and a markedly worse one than the previous model has. The buttons are very small and hard to press and it has to be pointed directly at the receiver, with fewer than 5 degrees misalignment. Often takes two or three attempts to get it to register.

Great product, great price
By Chris B
This was my first blu-ray player. I didn't want or need 3D capabilities, but I did want something with built-in wi-fi so I could access iPlayer and YouTube. This Toshiba ticked all the boxes, and all for a very good price.Set-up was easy peasy. Just a matter of plugging it in, connecting the HDMI and turning on the power. The wi-fi connected with no problems, and no software update was needed, so I was ready to go in less than ten minutes.Blu-ray discs play perfectly, which is always good from a blu-ray player. The iPlayer function seems to work perfectly, though it's a little sluggish to load sometimes. I've not tried YouTube or checked to see how DVDs look upscaled, but so far it's been perfect. The remote is a bit crappy, but there is also a useful Android app which again was simple to get up and running. If you want a cheap blu-ray player with wi-fi connectivity and some useful features, look no further.

Excellent value for money
By Belfast boy
Although there were not many customer reviews available, I decided to purchase this bluray player reading helpful reviews on techradar and trustedreviews sites. I would recommend going through these reviews before purchase. In summary I am very happy with video quality for bluray and dvd playback. Picture looks excellent on my full HD TV.USB playback is very well supported too and I could play everything except divx and wma. I could also play media library files wirelessly from my windows 7 media server.Only big letdown is the remote control and primitive user interface. Any typing with small remote keys is a nightmare. Especially I ended up pressing return key in error too many times when I actually wanted to press left arrow key above.Hence in practice I really doubt if anyone would use this player to see online content like Youtube which requires any typing or search. BBC iplayer has standard interface and it can be used once you get used to navigation using the remote. There is limited online content at the moment - Youtube, BBC iplayer, Acetrax Movies. But I am hoping that more content may be made available in future upgrades which I can download wirelessly on this player.Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase. I think its excellent value purchase for this price (£75 on amazon) if you can cope up with the remote control or can use some alternative like Android Toshiba remote app on your other smart device.
