Good quality picture on 40" screen

Purchased as a present for my father to drag him into the HD age. I took the precaution of ordering him a HDMI cable with it so he'd get the best picture quality from it. He found it easy to set up and is very impressed with the picture quality. Controls are simple enough and the HDMI connection ensures clear sound too.The Bluray player is available on its own but as it was a present I opted for the starter pack so he'd have some blurays from the start. There are some family/kid movies in the pack but as he has grandkids they will still come in useful.Ideal as a present as long as you remember the all important HDMI cable for about £5.

Excellent add-to if you want to keep your current DVD player.

Bought this player a few weeks ago as an add-to for my panasonic HDD/DVD PVR system which I have had for a number of years and am still very pleased with. This player adds Blu-ray and BBC iplayer (with HD), Channel 5 replay and a number of other internet channels to my setup. The picture quality and sound are excellent and I have had no problems with this player at all. If you want to keep your current setup and just want to give it a little upgrade then at the price you can't go wrong. As for the Blu-ray disks that came with it, not really any I would have bought myself so look out for them, still in their original packaging , on an auction site soon.
