Full HD 3D Blu-ray Playback
Full High Definition resolution by 'Frame Sequential' 3D Blu-ray playback - the amazing picture quality of Blu-ray Disc is due to the increased number of pixels in each frame of the image. Full High Definition requires 1920 x 1080 pixels (that's about 5x more resolution than DVD) and exactly matches the resolution of Full HD TVs. However, 3D movies display twice as many frames as 2D due to the slightly different information contained in the right eye and left eye images. Only Blu-ray 3D discs can store Full HD for the left eye and Full HD for the right eye and deliver them alternately to the screen in rapid sequential frames. This means that none of the stunning resolution and depth of Full HD is lost when watching 3D.

I bought this blu ray player because I wanted access to SMART facilities without having to replace my existing Panasonic TV. Despite some fun and games to start with I am now getting some real benefit from the machine. Listing my story so far maybe helpful to other customers. Firstly there was a problem with the machine not being able to load iPlayer but that was due to a BBC update which knocked out some Panasonic blu ray machines. Give credit to the good old Beeb they posted that they were aware of the problem and then sorted it out within about a week. Secondly I had to go on line to q and a sites to find out how to get full screen on YouTube - you click on the right arrow to get to the screen and then press OK to go full screen. Access to the Netflix free month trial created the most work. When finding the Netflix enrolment screen you assume you just start typing into the boxes but when you do you end up with no decent text at all. What you have to do when you come across the boxes is press OK to drop down the text facility. I used the on line Customer Support service to find this out. First reply related to a totally different remote control and obviously machine and was based on returning the machine to factory settings which felt like a "catch all" reply. The second reply did the biz because the specific problem was analysed and then a proper solution given. Worth getting this all sorted but Panasonic could think a little more carefully about describing how their product works and not make too many assumptions. I suggested supporting info on screen to give more support.
