Cool bit of kit!

I recently installed this drive into my home machine to give me a way to make copies of my favourite films in high resolution; I wanted the drive to be quiet, fast and functional, three out of three! This is the fastest BD drive I could find, and the reported speeds are accurate. The drive detects when you're playing media and reduces the read speed to make it quieter when watching films on my PC, which is a great touch. My absolute favourite thing about this drive is the lightscribe technology, it's really cool! When you've burned your disc, just turn it over in the drive and you can use the laser that normally reads/writes discs to burn a label onto the topside of the disc! You can design whatever you want, and they look brilliant. You need lightscribe discs, I always use Verbatim. If you're looking to upgrade to blu-ray, I'd really recommend this drive.

For some reason upon starting this up it was hella loud, with a screeching noise. not sure if this was because its brand new but i left it for 5mins and it didnt go away, the noise changed depending on what type of disc was in.
